In the month of February, 3 Northern California Camellia Societies presented their shows for judging and the public's enjoyment. The first show of the season was held February 7 at the Meadows of Napa Valley, organized by the Napa Camellia Society.
After the lunch, we had our council meeting in their dining hall which was well represented by all the Northern California Clubs.

February 14 and 15, the San Francisco Peninsula Camellia Society had their show at the Redwood City Community Activities Building. They had an auction of 5 gallon plants that were very beautiful, and they served a delicious buffet lunch, for which we thank the members of the society.
From our society, The Borts won 1st place for Best White Bloom for their plant Swan Lake, and they also won 1st place for the Best Bloom originating from the Nuccio's nursery.
Here is a look at some of the prizes people took home that day! Our continued thanks to everyone who donates, buys and supplies trophies to the Camellia Societies in their area.
On February 21 & 22, the Camellia Society of Santa Clara County had their show at the community recreation center. A lovely venue next to a park in a beautiful, tree filled setting.
From our society- Tony and Natalia Miranda won for the Tray of 5 Medium Japonica, with their Fire Dance Variegated Blooms. They also won for the Tray of 5 Boutonniere Japonicas, with the plant Man Size. The Borts won runner up for the Best Medium Japonica with their plant - Nuccio's Pearl.
